I updated the alert system code, converting it from PHP to jQuery and JavaScript using the alert vendor's API. The original PHP code was over 600 lines long, the new jQuery code was 36.
The alerts are only viewable when messages are sent out to campus. The test message is visible in the screenshot.
In January 2025, I updated the alert system on evms.edu to be more stylistically inline with both the EVMS Medical Group alert content type and ODU's alert system banner. I also updated the alert banner to be more accesible. Pictured is an alert sent out to announce the closure of all ODU campuses on January 22, 2025 due to inclement weather.
